Maxine Sims is a graduate student at the University of Dayton in the Clinical Mental Health Program. She is currently completing her practicum/Internship with Key Counseling and Consultation. Maxine received her Associated Degree in Radiographic Technology from Columbus State Community College. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Ohio Dominican University. Maxine is a member of the Ohio Counseling Association and holds her licensure as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant.
             

Maxine’s work with several mental health agencies in central Ohio, has given her experience assisting individuals and groups from varying backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. Through her current employer Maxine works closely with the Franklin County Municipal Court’s Opiate Extension Program where she provides counseling services to recovery opiate addicts. Maxine seeks to support her clients from a Cognitive Behavioral framework but is able to utilize many other techniques to help her clients reach their greatest potential.
